Principal Introduction

Michelle HigginsYuba Feather Elementary is "Where Children Are First".  We strive to do the following:
 
Promote the positive programs and activities that occur at Yuba Feather Elementary School.
Participate in activities that promotes respect for self, others, the environment, and the world.
Develop improvements in materials and instruction that will result in increased student achievement in reading and math.
Increase student achievement on CAASPP Test where every student leaves Yuba Feather Elementary at or above grade level standard.
 
Yuba Feather School has a variety of STEM offerings and is continually looking for ways to expand opportunities for our students within the STEM field. Complimenting our science curriculum is our school garden and orchard project that can be found at the interior of the school site.
 
Technology used as a tool for learning and creativity is an integral part of each student's learning experience. Students in grades K-6 are provided access to a Chromebook device in all core subjects. The use of these devices is embedded in teacher lessons, and a variety of online learning tools are provided to students. In many classrooms, teachers have begun to introduce students to programming through sites such as code.org. In recent years, we have begun to offer STEM enrichment opportunities that engage students in design-and-build processes. Robotics, coding and natural science themes have been a component of these experiences.
